Zach Shuster (Junior Class President) and Caroline Korndorffer (Senior Class President)
On Friday morning, we had our first Student Government meeting of the second semester, complete with no slides due to the looming Senioritis that seems to be gradually converting every member of the Senior Class. Last semester we had great success with the school-wide events, so we intend to host more. Specifically, we made plans for Spirit Week. The themed days are going to be as follows:
Monday: Accent Day
Tuesday: Crazy Hat Day
Wednesday: Nerd Day
Thursday: Cultural Icon Day
Friday: Spirit Day
The only day that wound up not on the agenda is academic icon day, and you are certainly welcome to dress up as their favorite academic icon on cultural icon day if you see fit. The week is going to culminate in a Spirit Assembly led by the Student Government. We are also hoping to foster a friendly competition between grades, with points awarded for participation in Spirit Week (anticipating a crushing senior loss). If you gear up for a theme day, make sure to send over a screenshot to your class officers, as you will earn a point for your grade. Additionally, this year Spirit Week will be complete with teacher superlatives! If you nominate a teacher for a superlative on Monday or Tuesday of Spirit Week, you will earn your grade a point. Voting on the superlatives Wednesday or Thursday will also earn you a point. Finally, attending the Spirit Week Assembly to hear the results and enjoy the festivities will also earn your grade a point. Ladies and gentlemen, let the 2nd annual Spirit Games begin!
There are more school and class-wide events (including an exciting Valentine’s Day Karaoke Night) headed your way, so keep an eye out! Student Government wishes everyone a wonderful second semester!
